Karapat-dapat Ka'ng Mahalin

A blast from the past...

Minsan, akong nagmahal pero hindi naman minahal. Lumayo ako dahil naisip ko'ng wala namang kwenta dahil wala naman akong napapala. Ba't ko pa ipipilit kung wala naman diba? Kaya lumayo ako dahil sa alam ko'ng yun ang makakabuti para sa'kin. Pero pag ako naman ang lumalayo, siya naman ang maglalambing. At ang mga sulsol, sasabihin intindihin ko daw siya. Kapag nakuha na niya nang husto ang loob ko, ako'y muling ilalaglag. Lugi na naman ako.

At nung nahanap na niya ang kanyang tunay na mamahalin, tuluyan na akong nabalewala. Ni hindi man lang ako pinasalamatan sa mga nagawa ko para sa kanya. Mas masakit, ako pa ang naging mali, hindi lamang para sa kanya, kundi sa paningin ng madla.

Ano ba'ng nagawa ko'ng mali? Wala. Nagmahal lang ako---sa maling tao. Nagmahal ako sa taong alam ko'ng hindi ako kayang mahalin, mula't sapul. Nang dahil lang sa naglambing siya, akala ko may pag-asa. Yun pala, kailangan lang niya ako dahil wala pa'ng nagmamahal ng totoo sa kanya ng totoo maliban sa'kin. Yun nga lang, hindi niya masuklian ang pagmamahal ko sa kanya.

Wala naman sigurong masama na magbigay ka ng pang-unawa sa tao, lalo pa kung mahal mo. Pero hindi naman ata tama na ikaw na lang ang parating umuunawa. Tao ka rin na may pangagailangan, nasasaktan, at nagmamahal. Kailangan ka rin unawain. Hindi patas kung ikaw lang ang umuunawa.

At bago ka magmahal, kailangan na mahalin mo muna ang sarili mo. Mapapatunayan mo lang na karapat-dapat ka'ng mahalin, kung meron ka'ng pagmamahal sa sarili mo. Dahil walang magmamahal sa'yo kung wala ka'ng pagmamahal sa sarili mo.

At hindi rin dapat mabigo ng habang buhay ang isang tao dahil lamang sa nabigong pag-ibig. Karapat-dapat ka'ng mahalin dahil ang bawat isa sa atin ay karapat-dapat mahalin. Yun nga lang, hindi lahat sa atin ay karapat-dapat makakuha ng pagmamahal ng bawat isa.

In english: Everybody deserves to be loved. It's just that not everybody deserves the love of everyone.
